His Second Labor

For the second task Eurystheus ordered Hercules to kill a nine headed monster called the Hydra. When Hercules found the Hydra he cut one of its heads off, unfortunately when he did this two more heads grew in its place. To overcome this obstacle Hercules cauterized the necks after cutting off the Hydra's heads.
